Norden’s goal lifts Mona Shores to district soccer victory over rival Reeths-Puffer

MUSKEGON – Shay Norden scored the game’s only goal with less than four minutes remaining and led the Mona Shores Sailors to a 1-0 victory over Reeths-Puffer.

The victory moves Mona Shores to the Division 1 district semifinal round next week at Rockford. The Sailors will take on Jenison.

Norden’s game-winning goal was assisted by Ava Freye.

The Sailors held a 14-2 shot advantage.

Shores keeper Jersey VanderWall posted her 11th shutout of the season with two saves.

Ella Kinney, Annie Zambon, Mal Hogston and Addison Fisher were lauded for their strong play in the field for the Sailors.

Mona Shores is now 16-2-2.

Reeths-Puffer closed out the season with a record of 7-11-2.
