The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team used a strong first-half start to defeat visiting Milwaukee Area Tech, 60-40, on Saturday.
The Jayhawks got the early lead off of tough defense, holding Milwaukee to just 16 first-half points.
Anna Lunquist led MCC with 20 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Arrionna Willams had a balanced attack with 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals while TyVeonna Davis added with 11 points, and seven rebounds. Kennedy Adams chipped in five rebounds.
“It was a great win, and I am seeing a lot of improvements,” said MCC coach Jason Cooper. “We still have a long way to go, but I am really excited about the direction we are going.”
The Jayhawks are next up on Tuesday when they host Macomb Community College at home at 6 p.m.
