The Muskegon Voyagers were home against Alpena on Saturday and cruised to a 13-2 win.

Andrew Taylor had a career-topping night with five goals and an assist in Muskegon’s win. Taylor gave the Voyagers a 3-0 lead in the first period, giving him the game-winning goal as well.

The Voyagers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and led 5-0 in the second before allowing their first goal to Alpena. Muskegon continued to build momentum, taking a 9-2 lead into the final period.

Luke McCarthy posted two goals and two assists in the victory for Muskegon. Jeremy Joyce had a goal and six assists while Jon Szczepaniak had two goals. Zach Grover had a goal and two assists and Zac Cuthbertson had three assists.

Kevin Belvitch and Ryan Gamber rounded out scoring for Muskegon.

The Voyagers were led in goal by Devon Lay as Muskegon outshot Alpena 56-19.

Muskegon will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to face the Detroit Warhawks.
