BYRON CENTER – The Mona Shores boys basketball team continues to battle injuries and it showed in its OK-Silver opener on Friday.
The Sailors battled from start to finish, but fell to Byron Center, 72-58.
“Even though we’re dealing with injuries, we’re not making excuses,” said Mona Shores’ senior forward Landyn Smith. “We’ll keep working hard and growing as a team. This is just the beginning.”
Milo Barangan put up 12 points, while Smith scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Jordan Bledsoe chipped in nine points and four assists. Jonathan Pittman scored nine points.
Mona Shores (1-7, 0-1) travels to Grandville on Tuesday.
