MESICK – Coming off a tough non-conference loss to Onekama, the Pentwater boys’ basketball team rebounded with a big 60-33 West Michigan D League victory at Mesick on Friday.
 
Pentwater led, 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and 27-15 at the half.
 
The Falcons blew the game wide open with a 25-14 third quarter.
 
It kept the Falcons in a tie for the WMD lead with Baldwin.
 
Leading the way for Pentwater was Trey Johnson with a game-high 21 points. He also had eight rebounds, eight steals and three assists. Michael Carlson tossed in 15 points, dished out five assists, grabbed eight rebounds and had two steals. Nate Brown added 12 points, six rebounds and two assists. Nathan Macher had seven rebounds.
 
Pentwater improved its record to 11-2 on the season and 6-1 in the league. The Falcons are scheduled to host Shelby in non-conference Monday night.
