MUSKEGON – The Grand Haven girls’ basketball team edged the Muskegon Lady Reds, 37-33, in a non-league battle on Tuesday night.
The Bucs took an 18-11 lead by the end of the first half, but the Big Reds battled back and cut into the deficit 18-11.
The Big Reds had a 22-19 scoring advantage in the second half, but the Bucs were able to hold them off.
Gillian Sorrelle led the Bucs with 17 points and five assists. Mallory Woiteshek posted a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks, while Kendall Gillis chipped in three steals.
Muskegon was led by Kam Ward’s 10 points and 7 rebounds while Jaila Martin had eight points and eight rebounds. Dynasti Bell chipped in eight points for the Big Reds.
Grand Haven (12-1, 4-1) will be at home on Friday for an OK Conference-Red game against Rockford.
