GRANT – The Grant girls basketball team finished the regular season with a double-digit victory as they took down Oakridge, 60-33, on Thursday.
The Tigers led 13-7 after the first quarter and outscored the Eagles, 15-6, in the second quarter for a 28-13 lead by halftime.
The lead continued to grow as the Tigers used an 18-11 scoring advantage to take a 46-24 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Jocee Pleune led Grant with 16 points and Payton Bouwkamp had 14.
“We played some great team defense and did a great job of boxing out,” said Tiger coach Josh Delamater. “It was a good game for us to set the tone going into districts next week.”
The Eagles’ Cambria Guenthardt scored 17 points and Hadley Whitaker added 10 points.
Grant (10-12, 4-6) will play at Tri-County on Wednesday, in Division 2 district play, against Comstock Park.
Oakridge (2-17, 1-11) travels to Montague to open Division 2 district play against Fruitport on Monday.
