WHITEHALL – The Whitehall girls’ basketball team defeated Oakridge 45-34 Friday on a night where they honored 27 veterans from the area.
The Vikings were paced by Peyton Schultz with 16 points, three rebounds and four assists. Clare Westerlund added a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Janie Fagan had eight points for Whitehall and Sidney Shepherd scored six.
The Vikings trailed 13-12 after the first quarter, led 25-17 at halftime and 43-24 through three quarters.
Oakridge finished strong, going on a 10-2 fourth-quarter run.
Destiny Bowen led the Eagles with 11 points, while Cambria Guenthardt scored nine and Hadley Whitaker had seven.
