HOLLAND – Grand Haven captured its first district title in 12 years on Friday night with a lopsided victory over Zeeland West.
In the Dutch Dome in Holland, the Bucs defeated Zeeland West, 48-24.
Mallory Woiteshek led the way with 21 points. She also had 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior Gillian Sorrelle had eight points and three steals.
Grand Haven (20-3) heads into Division 1 regional action at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Grandville. The Bucs will take on Hudsonville (17-7).
The teams met twice during the regular season and each won Grand Haven defeated Hudsonville 57-36 on Jan. 10 and the Eagles returned the favor on Feb. 7 with a 49-34 victory. The Bucs have won six straight games since that setback.
The teams tied for second in the OK-Red with 7-3 records.
