Mason County Central hosted a tough Shelby volleyball team in a West Michigan Conference matchup on Tuesday.

The Spartans had their hands full as Shelby Tigers rolled in three games with scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-10.

Despite the loss, the Spartans take the learning experience and move forward.

“We just need to keep coming together as a team and keep working on our defense as well as our offensive game,” said Head Coach Erin O’harra.

Jessica Gerbers had an ace and eight digs for MCC, Adria Quigley made one ace and two digs and Alayna Raffter had an ace and five digs.

MCC was also led by Ashlyn McKay with two blocks and a dig, Charlie Banks had one kill and five digs and Keyara Petersen made four digs.

Tori Dunblaizer had two kills, an ace, five digs and a block, Wren Nelson made two kills, one dig and one block and Maxie Green also scored an ace for the Spartans.
