KENT CITY–The Kent City Eagles girls’ basketball team canned 11 shots from beyond the arc, including eight in the first half, on Friday evening.

That led to a 56-16 victory over the White Cloud Indians in a Central State Activities Association matchup.

Savannah Miller had a game-high 17 points for Kent City as she went 5-of-8 from long distance. She also grabbed six rebounds. Maddie Geers tossed in 15 points, hauled down seven rebounds, had five steals and dished out three assists. Lexie Bowers chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. Abby Pecynski contributed seven points to go along with three rebounds. Hailey Kamphuis had three points and a team-leading seven steals.

Kent City wasted little time in determining the outcome of the game as they raced out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter of action and extended their lead to 40-9 by the half.

The Eagles led 49-16 after three quarters and shutout White Cloud in the final minutes 10-0.

Jolena Deaton led White Cloud with five points.

Kent City (12-3, 6-1) will travel to Sparta on Tuesday.
 
White Cloud (7-6, 3-4) will travel to Hart on Monday.
