PENTWATER – It was one of those nights for the Pentwater boys’ basketball Friday when the team chemistry showed up big time, resulting in a lopsided 84-20 win over Mason County Eastern in the West Michigan D League.
 
With its stifling defense smothering the Eastern offense from the opening tip, Pentwater started the game on a 25-0 run and raced into the halftime break with a 45-14 lead.
 
Michael Carlson fired in 23 points to lead the Falcons, followed by Trey Johnson with 21 and Jonny Arnouts with 16.Arnouts also dished out nine assists and had three steals. Carlson had three steals as well. Brody Austin led the Falcons with eight rebounds, had three steals and two assists.
 
Josh Rogers scored nine points for the Cardinals.
 
Pentwater (10-1, 5-1 in the WMD) has four straight games and will travel to Onekama on Monday.
 
Eastern (3-8, 3-3 in the WMD) travels to Hesperia on Tuesday.
