Kings 4, Red Wings 2 – The Los Angeles Kings scored two key power play goals to lead them past the Red Wings on Monday night.
Anze Kopitar’s one goal and three assists paced the Kings, while Drew Doughty and Milan Lucic each picked up two assists.
Tomas Tatar and Alexei Marchenko each scored a goal for Detroit, while Pavel Datsyuk and Darren Helm each had two assists.
The Red Wings snapped their four-game winning streak and will finish the six-game road trip Thursday night against the Arizona Coyotes.
Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard took the loss, stopping 27 of 30 shots.
The Red Wings are now 22-14-7 on the season, good for 51 points and second place in the Atlantic Division.
