Boys tennis teams from across the state will be vying for regional titles later this week.

The top two teams in each regional and any team that scores a minimum of 18 points will advance to the state finals. All finalists in No. 1 singles also will advance.

The action begins on Thursday for local teams as Grand Haven travels to Holland inĀ  Division 1. In Division 3, Spring Lake will be the host of a tournament that also includes Fremont and Fruitport. Also on Thursday, NorthPointe Christian will host the Division 4 regionals. That site will feature local entrants Muskegon Catholic, North Muskegon and Western MichiganĀ  Christian.

Grant, Ludington and Whitehall will vye for Division 4 regional titles on Thursday at Traverse City St. Francis.

The lone Friday tournament that includes area schools is Division 2 at GR Forest Hills Northern. Mona Shores and Reeths-Puffer will be competing at that site.

The state finals will be contested Oct. 19-20 with Division 1 at Midland, Division 2 at Holly/Fenton, Division 3 at Holland Christian and Division 4 at Kalamazoo College.
