Grand Rapids Covenant Christian 1, Western Michigan Christian 0: The No. 2 ranked team in Division 4 proved to be too much for WMC despite a valiant effort. In the 17th minute, Travis Boukamp scored for Grand Rapids Covenant Christian and they held strong for the rest of the match. There were open opportunities for WMC but they were unable to capitalize.

Whitehall 6, Ravenna 1: Whitehall’s Daniel Dubois celebrated a hat trick, while contributing two assists in this West Michigan Conference showdown against the Bulldogs. Ethan Avery added 2 goals with an assist, while Joshua Gonzalez made his mark with a goal of his own as well.

Although Ravenna’s defense was scrappy and tried to disrupt the Vikings’ offense, the Bulldog’s could not keep up with the Viking’s scoring output.

Orchard View 4, Muskegon Catholic Central 3: It was a physical, back and forth game between these two teams. MCC’s Justin Lee scored the first goal of the game, but it wasn’t long after that Orchard View evened the score as Chris Kroenig got the equalizer from a Steve Malecki assist. Goals from Jarod Barclay and Jose Molica gave MCC the lead at half 3-2.

In his first varsity game, Orchard View freshman Evan McMiller filled in exceptionally for his injured teammates, slipping in his first goal in the second half to even the score at 3-3. All it took was a goal from Brody Neer and Orchard View sealed the victory 4-3.

Fruitport 6, Ludington 2: The Fruitport Trojans came out firing in the first 7 minutes of the game by putting in three quick goals. Eli Flores had two of those goals off assists by Cameron Brandow and Noah Hendricks. Hendricks also scored with set up by Zack Shane.

Ludington responded with a goal by David Ritter. Just before half, Fruitport’s Brandow scored to give the Trojans a 4-1 lead.

After the half, Flores scored a third goal, completing a hat-trick for the evening. Brandow added the final goal for the Trojans. Ludington scored off of a header from Julius Lenz with 13 minutes left in the match.

Mona Shores 5, Kenowa Hills 0: In the OK Black conference opener, the Sailors were able to put down Kenowa Hills with the help of Nate Hoover who led the team with 4 assists and Jake DeRemer who compiled a hat trick in the victory. Eric Conley and Blake Yin added a goal of their own as well.
