Mona Shores used a pair of goals from Connor Edlund to win 2-0 against East Kentwood in its opening round matchup of the Stan Konrad Memorial hockey tournament on Saturday.

Edlund gave the Sailors a 1-0 lead in the first period off assists from Sam Curran and Trevor Adams. Edlund followed up again in the third period off a Sawyer Jensen assist.

Goaltender Anthony Shrum stopped all 17 East Kentwood shots in the Mona Shores shutout.

In the opening game between Grand Haven and Portage Central, the Bucs did not manage well in a 7-3 loss.

Grand Haven’s Jack Pendery scored a pair of goals while Matt Nalley scored a goal and Joey Zelenka posted a pair of assists.

Grand Haven goaltender Ryan Henning had 31 saves.

Win both Mona Shores and Portage Central winning, the two teams will face off in the championship game on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Lake Shore Ice Arena.

Grand Haven and East Kentwood will play in the consolation game which starts at 10:30 a.m.
