The Spring Lake girls basketball team grabbed a 15-9 lead after one quarter Friday and pulled away for a 46-34 victory over Fruitport in Lakes 8 Conference action.

Kelsee Zuidema led the Lakers with 18 points and eight rebounds while Reiko Johnson had 15 points. The Trojans were led by Alyssa Veihl with 15 points.

Ludington 52, Muskegon Catholic 26 – The Orioles led 18-6 after the first quarter and closed the Lakes 8 game on a 16-3 fourth quarter run.  Claire Flewelling led the Orioles with 17 points while Brandy Thomas added 12 points.

Zhane Harris had nine points to lead the Crusaders.

CSAA

Kent City 55, Holton 44 –   The Eagles (14-2, 7-0) jumped out to a 20-11 lead and never looked back. Kent City was led by Bailey Freeland with 19 points. The Red Devils (10-4, 3-4) were led by Riley Hicks with 12 points.

O-K Red

East Kentwood 58, Grand Haven 41 – A 25-19 deficit at halftime proved to be too much for the Buccaneers (5-10, 2-4) to overcome. Grand Haven was led by Amanda Merz with 24 points.

O-K Black

Zeeland East 65, Muskegon 56 – The Big Reds fell behind 36-18 at halftime and were not able to recover. Mardrekia Cook led Muskegon with 21 points while Tierra Williams added 18 points in a losing effort.

RIVER VALLEY

Grand River Prep 53, West Michigan Christian 30 – The Warriors (5-10, 1-3) were unable to overcome a 31-15 halftime deficit. Lindsey Johnson led the Warriors with 13 points.

ALLIANCE LEAGUE

Fruitport Calvary Christian 64, Holland Black River 45 – The Eagles (12-2, 8-0) used a 25-11 second quarter run to lead them to victory. Taylor Richards led the Eagles with 31 points and 12 rebounds. Allyson Richards added 18 points and 15 rebounds.

NON-LEAGUE

Hart 56, Pentwater 55 – The Pirates made a three pointer with nine seconds remaining from Jenny Herrygers to seal the victory. Baylee Draper led the Pirates with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Herrygers also scored 16 points.
