The Montague boy’s basketball team cruised to a surprisingly easy 67-44 win over North Muskegon on Tuesday in a key West Michigan Conference game.
Montague fell behind 16-13 after one quarter but took a 32-26 lead into halftime, outscoring the Norse 19-10 in the second. The Wildcats put the game away by outscoring North Muskegon 35-18 in the second half.
Montague was led by senior forward Josh Weesies, who scored 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field. Sophomore guard Kenyan Johnston added 11 points for the Wildcats.
Montague improved to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the league.
Riley Fairfield scored 16 points for North Muskegon, which fell to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
Joshua was 8-10 from the field, with 20 points.
