A big second quarter edge provided the Spring Lake boys basketball team with a 60-50 O-K Blue Conference win over Allendale on Tuesday.

The Lakers (7-2, 2-1) outscored the Falcons 16-7 in the second quarter to stretch their lead to 11 going into the half.

Cameron Ball scored 13 points and dished out six assists to lead Spring Lake. Sam Johnson had 12 points and Isaiah Pierce added 11.

BENTON HARBOR 62, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 60 – Muskegon Heights couldn’t hold onto an early lead against Benton Harbor on Tuesday. Heights led 21-19 after one quarter and 32-31 at halftime, but the game snuck away from the Tigers in the end. Anthony Jones led Muskegon Heights with 16 points and Keishon Watson scored 15.

JENISON 88, REETHS-PUFFER 41 – The Rockets fell behind 31-4 after one quarter. Josh Jordan, Carter Fulton and DeAirrus Ware all scored nine points for Reeths-Puffer.

BYRON CENTER 62, MONA SHORES 52 – The Sailors, now 1-6, jumped out to an early 17-4 lead but let the game slip away. Jarvis Walker paced Mona Shores with 19 points, Jaquarius Cooper added 12 points and seven rebounds while James Gilbert had nine points.

GRANT 45, FREMONT 29 – Fremont led 15-14 at halftime but had a bad second half. The Packers hurt themselves with 22 turnovers. Sam Kaastra had 13 points for Fremont, which dropped to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the league. Carter Chase scored 10 for Grant.

POTTERS HOUSE 64, WEST MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 48 – Dan Ray had a team high 20 points for the Warriors in a non-league contest. Tyler VanBeek added 10 points for WMC, which dropped its record to 2-6 overall on the season.
