The West Michigan Whitecaps lost their fourth straight game, losing 3-1 at Bowling Green on Saturday.

Overall West Michigan is 81-40 on the year and 36-18 in the second half, a half game ahead of Bowling Green for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

West Michigan was held to only four hits on the night. Dylan Burdeaux had a hit and the lone RBI while Sam Machonis, Anthony Pereira and Danny Pinero also had hits.

Starting pitcher Alfred Gutierrez took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings.

West Michigan will continue its series at Bowling Green on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.
