Lindsey Burnside and Jazmyn Good each recorded a double-double and led the Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team to a 74-40 victory over Alpena Community College on Friday night.

Burnside, from Grand Haven, scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. She also had four blocks and three steals. Good finished with 14 ponts, 10 rebounds, seven steals and eight assists.

Sonnie Kurnat also hit double figures in scoring with 10 points. She also chipped in with six steals.

MCC jumped out to an early 11-2 lead. The Jayhawks’  forced numerous Alpena turnovers that helped them build the big lead.

” Our goal is to average 70 points a game and to keep our opponents below 50 points a game,” MCC assistant coach Sandra Bush said. “We  are starting to take more shots, and for the last 3 games,  we have scored at least 70 points.    We now have a three-game win streak and are looking to extend that record.”
