ALPENA – The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team saw its season come to an end on Tuesday night in the NJCAA regional tournament.

The Jayhawks traveled to Alpena for the opening-round game and suffered a 73-69 setback.

A slow start cost the Jayhawks as they fell behind by 14 points just past the midpoint of the opening half. MCC trailed 35-25 at the half.

It came down the final seconds as the Jayhawks trailed by two with 40 seconds remaining. However, Alpena scored off an offensive rebound for the final margin of victory.

Jacob Mueller led MCC with 25 points and eight rebounds. Jadakiss Lewis added 12 points.
