The women’s basketball team from Muskegon Community College suffered a 75-40 Western Conference setback to Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Saturday.

MCC fell behind 36-21 at the half and never recovered.

Lindsey Burnside led MCC with 10 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Sabri Carter-Latin added seven rebounds.

“At the start of the second half, we allowed KVCC to score easy buckets in transition,” MCC assistant coach Sandra Bush said. “We were plagued by unforced turnovers and just weren’t able to defend their pick ‘n roll.

“We have been playing some tough teams in our conference and hopefully we will soon be able to put it altogether and get back to winning ball games,” Bush said.
