The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks took their show on the road on Wednesday night and returned with a 68-55 Western Conference victory over Glen Oaks.

The game was tied at 25-all at the half. Muskegon CC came out with a quick run in the second half to grab the lead and hang on for the victory.

Sonnie Kurnat led the Lady Jayhawks with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. She also had six steals and five assists. T’Keyia Collins added 12 points and 10 rebounds while Lindsey Burnside had 10 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. Sabri Carter-Latin and Quanieshia McBride had five assists each.

The Vikings made a late run at the Jayhawks in the final 3 minutes, but MCC played with poise and focus.

“We had a rough start but we are bringing it together when it counts,” Kurnat said. “The best is yet to come.  You’ll just have to wait and see.”
