The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk softball team dropped a pair of games Tuesday on their southern trip to Mississippi.

In the opener, MCC dropped an 8-7 decision to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The game was played at Perkinston, Miss.

Kayti Carlson knocked in five runs with a first-inning single and a sixth-inning home run. Deanna Stickler-Gatson had three hits for the Jayhawks, who finished the game with 11 hits. Brooke Agers and Taylor Sanicki had two hits each.

In the second game, the Jayhawks dropped an 11-0 decision. MCC had just one hit, a fifth-inning single by Kelly Barnes.
