Muskegon Heights Academy broke open a tight game after one quarter and went on to beat Shelby 68-52 in a nonconference game on Tuesday night.

The teams were tied 16-16 after one quarter, but Heights took a 33-24 lead at the half.

Jeff Jordan led the Heights with 23 points, Edrick Tornes scored 14, Aaron Sydnor scored 13 and DeMonte Crosby netted 10 points.

Andrew Beckman led the Tigers with 16 points and Spencer Peters scored 12.
