Spring Lake kept its composure after falling behind by double digits after one quarter.
The Lakers battled back to tie the game by halftime and then squeaked out a 52-50 victory over Zeeland West on Tuesday night.
Austin Johnson led Spring Lake with 27 points. Jeff Marod and Nick Geoglein added eight points each. Geoglein also had seven rebounds. Erik Johnson had eight rebounds and Adam Clauss had five points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Zeeland West led 23-12 after one quarter, but Spring Lake battled back for a 30-all tie at the half. The game also was tied after three quarters.
