The Jacks host the Chicago Steel at 7:15 p.m. at L.C. Walker Arena.

Holmstrom will sign autographs before the game and during each intermission. The evening, sponsored by Sports Pro Stop, also will include Red Wings’ memorabilia giveaways.

The native of Pitea, Sweden, announced his retirement last month when the NHL lockout ended. He played in more than 1,000 games with the Red Wings and scored 243 goals, 287 assists and 769 penalty minutes. His first season was 1996-97 after just six games in the minors with Adirondack.

He made a living parking in front of the Wings’ net by wreaking havoc on goaltenders, defensemen and picking up rebound goals in the crease area. He has four Stanley Cup rings with the Red Wings (1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008).
