The Whitehall  Vikings came out of the gate strong on Friday night and carried that momentum to a 52-34 victory over the North Muskegon Norse.

While it was Senior Night for the Vikings, it was a sophomore who did the most damage. Emily McArthur scored 19 points, pulled down 12 rebounds, had four steals and four blocks.

Brandi Balzer and Jenna Pesch added 11 points each for the Vikings, 4-14, 3-9.

Ali Wierda led North Muskegon with 18 points. Hannah Meier had six rebounds and Laura Hardy had three steals.

“The Lady Vikings hustled for 32 minutes of basketball, diving after many loose balls and tying it up for 15 jump ball throughout the game,” Whitehall coach Rachel Kent said. “This was a great showing by the Vikings after a mishap on Tuesday with Ravenna. This was also a great rematch with the Norsemen after losing to them the first time around, 34-32.”
