Fruitport uses 22-hit attack to defeat Montague in nine-inning softball game

It took nine innings and 22 hits before the Fruitport Trojans came away with a 14-9 softball victory over the host Montague Wildcats on Thursday.

Lindsey Helson hit a home run while Allison Beckwith had a pair of triples. Morgan Glover was the winning pitcher for  Fruitport.

Montague battled back from an 8-1 deficit after four innings to tie the game. TheTrojans scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning.
