Muskegon Lumberjack recent draft pick Haralds Egle has committed to play college hockey for the University of Vermont Catamounts following his Lumberjack career.

Egle, a native of Liepaje, Latvia, was the Lumberjacks second first-round pick in Tuesday’s 2013 USHL Phase Two Draft. He was the eighth overall pick.

This past season, Egle played with the Portland Junior Pirates out of the Eastern Junior Hockey League and scored 48 points (22 goals and 26 goals) in 39 games played.  Prior to playing for Portland, Egle spent the 2011-12 season with the Green Mountain Glades of the Empire Junior Hockey League and recorded 48 points (18 goals and 30 assists) in 34 games.

Egle also recently participated in the 2013 IIHF Under-18 World Championship that took place from April 18-28 in Sochi, Russia for his native country of Latvia. He had two goals in six games.
