The Mona Shores Sailors, making their first playoff appearance in school history, raced out to an early 12-0 early lead before succumbing to the Lowell Red Hawks

34-24 on Friday night. The game was a first-round district game in  Division 2.

Mona Shores stormed out quickly with a 74-yard drive that culminated on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Tyree Jackson to Hunter Broersma. On their next possession, Sailor DeOntay Moffett scored on a 38-yard run.

Lowell cut the deficit in half when Tyler Shurlow ran 14 yards for a touchdown with to make it 12-6. Later, Shurlow connected with Gabe Steed for the first of his three touchdowns to make to make it 13-12.

connected with Steed a second time. This time, it was from 29 yards out.

Lowell led 20-18 at the half and extended it to 28-18 in the third quarter.

Shurlow completed 14-of-29 passes for 274 yards.
