The Mason County Central boys basketball team is on a three-game win streak after defeating Oakridge on the road 55-47 Wednesday in West Michigan Conference action.

The Spartans (12-5 overall, 9-4 league) led 17-12 after one quarter and 27-17 at halftime. Oakridge battled back in the third quarter with an 18-14 edge, but MCC sealed the win down the stretch with free throws.

Sean Kelley led the Spartans with 13 points and Johnny Shafer added 11.

James Cooper III had a game-high 16 points for Oakridge, which fell to 10-8 and 7-6.

O-K Black

Zeeland East 67, Reeths-Puffer 33DeAngelo Williams and Joey Olsen each had seven points each for Reeths-Puffer.

CSAA

Newaygo 55, Holton 44 – A 16-7 third quarter edge put Newaygo over the top. Ben Wolford scored 16 points for the winners. Clay Mullins and Jacob Bowden scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Holton.

Non-league

Hesperia 64, Hart 58 – The Panthers took a 17-7 lead after one quarter and held on for the win. Joe Allen led the Panthers with 17 points.

Non-league

Tri-County 58, Orchard View 43 – O-V only trailed by four at halftime, but a poor start to the second half doomed the Cardinals. A’marie Brown scored 19 points for Orchard View, which fell to 9-10 on the season.
