Tigers 11, Twins 0 – The Tigers started the season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time in franchise history.
Ian Kinsler led the Tigers offensively with four RBIs, while Anthony Gose added three RBIs. Gose also hit a double and triple in his Tigers debut.
Alex Avila and Jose Iglesias reached base in all nine of their at-bats.
Anibal Sanchez pitched six and two thirds innings of shutout baseball, while the Tigers bullpen only allowed one hit in two and a third innings.
