Pitcher Kennedee Semans propelled the Whitehall softball team to a sweep of Shelby on Wednesday, picking up two wins in cold and snowy conditions.LSJ Logo incert

The Vikings won the first game 5-3 and the second 12-6.

In Game 1, Semans struck out seven. Katelyn Goodrich and Emily Spicklemire were each 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs while Halle Wagenmaker and Caitlyn Hain each drove in a run for Whitehall.

In Game 2, Shelby jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Vikings answered back with three of their own.

Whitehall smacked seven straight hits in the second inning to pad its lead even more. Wagenmaker hit her second home run of the season in the second game.

Whitehall improves to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in the West Michigan Conference.
