The Spring Lake girls soccer team overcame an early deficit to edge rival Fruitport 2-1 on Wednesday in Lakes 8 Conference action.
Both of the Lakers’ goals came in the second half, including the game-winner from Saebrynn Peel.
Fruitport had a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal scored by Marissa Hassevoort, with an assist from Jaydie Hanks.
Fruitport held an 18-17 advantage in shots, with goalie Monica Holden recording six saves for the Trojans.
Ludington 5, Orchard View 1 – Jacquelyn Lynch scored four goals, lifting the Orioles to a conference victory. Jordan Alberts also scored for the Orioles, while Kristen Reidenbach and Courtney Edwards had two assists each and Kaylinn Battice had one. Shelby Kraft had five saves in goal for Ludington, which improves to 13-3 overall and 6-3 in the league.
