Western Michigan Christian used a strong second half effort on Tuesday to earn a comeback 2-1 victory in boys soccer over Covenant Christian.
The Warriors found themselves down 1-0 at halftime but came back resilient in the second half, even after a missed penalty kick opportunity to tie the game.
After the missed penalty kick, Chance Larson sent a ball into the box that Dylan Mines was able to head into the back of the net to tie the game up.
The second goal for the Warriors came when a Covenant player scored on his own net off of a rebound from a shot by Tommy Tencate.
Western Michigan Christian is now 9-4-1 on the year and will next play Holland Christian, the state’s No. 1 team in Division 2, on Saturday.
