The Grand Haven volleyball team cruised past Grand Rapids Union on Wednesday night with set scores of 25-9, 25-12 LSJ Logo incertand 25-12 in a Class A district semifinal match on its home court.

The Buccaneers will play Mona Shores for the district title at home on Friday night at 5 p.m.

Morgan Ross led the Buccaneers with eight kills, while Claire Holman added six. Sophia Newhouse had 12 digs and four aces while Katie Cole chipped in with 27 assists.

“I am glad we took care of the match and gained experience using 14 kids tonight,” said Grand Haven Coach Aaron Smaka. “We are excited about Friday night, it is going to be a lot of fun.”

Grand Haven is now 47-7 on the season.
