The eleventh football state championships in Muskegon Catholic’s illustrious history (15, 14, 13, 08, 06, 00, 95, 91, 90, 82, 80) had a special ring to it on Saturday: Three peat. The Crusaders marched to a 7-0 defensive battle over Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes at Ford Field on Friday.
For MCC fans, it wasn’t just another win. It was about watching a championship team being made, starting way back in Week 1 when they lost to Oakridge 45-26.
The Crusader faithful will be able to enjoy this championship for many years to come and can take it in with a photo gallery for photographer Tim Reilly.
