Jeff Beckman poured in 38 points to lead the Shelby boys basketball team to a 64-48 victory over Montague in West Michigan Conference action on Friday.
The Tigers, now 2-0, took control with a 19-8 advantage in the second quarter.
Jacob Buchberger paced Montague with 14 points. The Wildcats fell to 1-1 on the season.
NORTH MUSKEGON 63, HART 48 – The Norse (2-0) only led by four at halftime, but turned it up a notch in the second half. Shooting guard Riley Fairfield led North Muskegon with 23 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four assists. Dalton Fuller connected on three 3-pointers and added 11 points, while Erick Bleakley totaled 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and four assists.
MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 62, RAVENNA 41 – Mitch Lange led the Spartans (2-0, 1-0) with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Ryan Mount added 16 points and nine rebounds. The Bulldogs were led by Nick Castenholz with 11 points.
