Detroit sports glance: Red Wings blank New Jersey Devils; Pistons pull away to a huge win over Orlando Magic

Red Wings 1, Devils 0 – Red Wing’s goaltender Petr Mrazek posted his second shutout of the season in Detroit’s win over the New Jersey Devils on Monday night.

LSJ Logo incertMrazek stopped all 22 New Jersey shots, while Dylan Larkin score the game’s lone goal in the first period.

The Red Wings are now 20-13-7 on the season, good for 47 points and a second place tie in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit will head out to the west coast to play the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.

Pistons 115, Magic 89 – The Detroit Pistons ran out to 26-point victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday night.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope paced the Pistons with 21 points, while Brandon Jennings sparked Detroit with 17 points and six assists off the bench.

Andre Drummond grabbed another double-double for Detroit, with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

The Magic were led by Victor Oladipo with 18 points in a losing effort.

The Pistons are now 19-16 on the season, good for fourth place in a tight Central Division race.

Detroit will travel to take on the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
