Flyers 2, Red Wings 1 (shootout) – Jakub Voracek’s shootout goal during the third round gave the edge to the Philadelphia Flyers over the Red Wings on Sunday night.
The Flyers outscored Detroit 2-1 during the shootout with goals from Voracek and Claude Giroux, while the Red Wings lone strike came from Pavel Datsyuk.
The Red Wings’ defenseman Niklas Kronwall scored the lone goal in regulation for Detroit. Jonathan Ericsson and Datsyuk were credited with assists on the tally.
Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek lost in the shootout after stopping 30 of 31 shots during regulation and overtime.
The Red Wings are now 23-14-8 on the season, good for 54 points and second place in the Atlantic Division.
Detroit will remain home to host the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.
