Tigers 11, Blue Jays 0 – The Tigers blanked the Toronto Blue Jays in the opening game of a three-game series on Monday night.
Detroit’s starting pitcher Michael Fulmer continued his hot streak, tossing six shutout innings allowing two hits while striking out five batters.
The Tigers scored four runs in the second inning, two in the third, three in the sixth and added two more in the eighth.
Justin Upton and James McCann each paced Detroit with a home run and three RBIs apiece while J.D. Martinez added two RBIs.
The Blue Jays were led by Darwin Barney with two hits while Michael Saunders added a triple.
The Tigers are now 29-28 on the season, good for a third place tie in the American League Central Division behind the first-place Cleveland Indians.
Detroit will look to win its fifth straight game with a victory against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
