Jets 5, Red Wings 3 – Brandon Tanev’s two-goal third period led to a Winnipeg Jets win over the Red Wings on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertTanev tied the game 3-3 with 7:36 left in the third period, then scored the game-winning goal with 1:16 remaining in regulation.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period and Detroit had a 2-1 advantage after the second period before the Jets outscored the Red Wings by a 4-1 margin during the final stanza.

The Red Wings, who are now 6-5-1 on the season, are now winless in their last four games.

Henrik Zetterberg paced Detroit with a goal and an assist while Tomas Tatar chipped in with two assists.

Detroit’s goaltender Petr Mrazek took the loss, stopping 26 of 30 shots.

The Red Wings will look to get back to the win column on Sunday evening at home against the Edmonton Oilers.
