Lauren Ross delivered a no-look bounce pass to Delaney Bolles, who scored the winning layup with 2.6 seconds left to give the Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team a thrilling 40-39 victory over Goodrich on Friday in the Motor City Basketball Classic in Detroit.

The game was allowed to be played extremely physical, which prevented either team from getting into an offensive rhythm. The Rockets only led twice during the game, making the first basket and then the winning field goal in the closing seconds.

Reeths-Puffer improved to 5-1 on the season.

Elysia Mattos, who was named the game’s most valuable player, paced the Rockets with 22 points. Delaney Bolles had nine rebounds for R-P.

Maddie Voelker scored 13 points for Goodrich while Aaliyah McQueen had 12 points and nine rebounds.
