The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team fell 96-89 to Lansing Community College on Wednesday night for their first conference loss.

Muskegon found itself down 46-34 at halftime due to a poor shooting percentage of 31.1 percent, which included just 17.6 percent from three-point distance.

However, the Jayhawks charged back and tied the game with about 10 minutes remaining but were unable to overcome the last charge from Lansing.

Sergio Diaz led Muskegon with 26 points, while Kyle Ervin Jr. recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ricarri Stimage also had a double-double for the Jayhawks with 17 points and 12 assists.

Muskegon falls to 8-4 overall on the year and 2-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. The Jayhawks next travel to Kalamazoo Valley Community College for their next game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
