The Muskegon Catholic Central wrestling team clinched the Lakes 8 Conference championship on Friday in front of its home fans.
The Crusaders’ victory in Friday’s conference tournament in their own gym, along with their first-place finish in the regular season dual standings, clinched the outright conference title.
In the tournament, MCC finished with 166 points and had six individual weight class champions. Second- place Orchard View finished with 162 points and had five individual champions.
Ludington finished in third place with 93 points while Manistee took fourth with 63 points.
Winning individual titles for Muskegon Catholic were Gabe Flood (125), Glen Kuharevicz (130), Ryder Smith (135), Tio Knight (140), James Jordan III (160) and Brock Johnson (285).
Champions for Orchard View were Brent Sandberg (103), Alex Cantu (112), Harley Evans (145), Tommy Shawl (152) and Matt Gardner (215).
Rounding out the individual champions were Jeffery Crouch (119) of Manistee and Keenan Hays (171) and Troy Althaus (189) of Ludington.
