Fruitport’s rally in the sixth inning fell short of a comeback, and the Trojans were dealt a loss by O-K Black Conference foe Kenowa Hills, 14-8.

The Trojans had the bases loaded in the sixth and trailed by just three runs, but the Knights got a big strikeout, then added three insurance runs in the bottom half of the sixth to pad their lead.

Sam Steinhauer’s two doubles and two RBIs and Brenden Peterman’s two hits and three RBIs led Fruitport.

The Trojans fall to 3-4 overall on the year, and 3-3 in conference play.
