Oakridge’s varsity softball team made a statement in Game 2 of the Eagles’ doubleheader against Traverse City West on Thursday, stomping the Titans by a 25-1 final.

It still didn’t change the fact that the Eagles finished 1-1 on the evening and had their undefeated start snapped, as the Titans pulled out an 8-6 win in the opener.

Head coach Joe Coletta said the Eagles were hurt by several critical errors in the opener. Madison Carroll pitched a complete game for Oakridge, as she struck out four and walked four.

Hannah Reinhold had two hits and three RBIs — including a home run — to lead the Eagles.

Oakridge collected 21 hits in the nightcap, including six players with two or more. Starting pitcher Alyssa Fessenden had a no hitter through three innings, but Brie Pastor threw the final four innings.

Oakridge’s season record is now 9-1.
