Fruitport’s varsity softball team rolled to a non-conference sweep of Montague on Wednesday, 11-1 and 9-0.

The Trojans improve to 13-9 overall this season.

In Game 1, the Trojans plated five runs in the opening inning and rolled to the win. Kirsten Sweet swung a big bat with two hits and four RBIs. Rachel Paulsen also tallied two hits for the Trojans.

Paulsen picked up the pitching win, as she allowed just two hits and struck out seven.

Maddy Wynn had the only two hits for Montague.

In the nightcap, Aurora Wilks allowed six hits but kept Montague off the scoreboard in a shutout pitching victory.

Wilks struck out seven Wildcats. She also had two hits and three RBIs at the plate, while teammate Alexis Jurgens totaled three hits, and Brynne Tober had two RBIs.
